For our site in Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), we are looking for a: Assistant Phytopathology Your role: Working on resistance tests and diagnosis in different vegetable crops, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of projects. You will work in collaboration with your colleagues in different departments and countries. The job involves some international travel, as well as (frequent) field work. Major Accountabilities: •Survey and collection of plant pathogen isolates; •Maintenance and multiplication of fungal, bacterial, viral & nematode cultures; •Artificial and natural screening of fungal, bacterial, viral and nematode diseases; •Insect rearing for virus resistance screening and insect bioassay; •Planning, conducting and evaluation of disease screening both in the greenhouse and field; •Performing diagnostic tests for pathogen identification; Skills, Experience & Qualifications: •Bachelor’s or Master of Science in agronomy with emphasis in plant pathology; •Knowledge and experience in plant virology and in particular inoculation techniques of plant viruses are a plus. •Working neat and careful; • Enthusiastic, creative and pragmatic; •Autonomous, with good reporting skills; •Details and results oriented; •Flexible and adaptable to stress; •Good communicative skills; Good English level. |
